How frequently are employees relocated?

ERNI doesn’t require employees to relocate; instead there are internal career opportunities that employees may opt to pursue at their discretion.


How is ERNI going to help develop my career?

Upon entry, you will be working with your direct superior on establishing a career path. At ERNI, all managers are utilizing a globally streamlined leadership system called Leading ERNI. Its aim is to ensure that the company’s biggest assets, its employees, have ample resources to sustain personal growth and professional engineering competence.


Are there opportunities to transfer between areas of the company?

ERNI Group’s vision is to open one hundred sites, each with one hundred employees. This opens up the potential for a considerable number of career opportunities and international work assignments.


What is the time frame for selection during the year?

We don’t have predefined selection periods, instead we encourage candidates to apply when they see an opening; they can expect a reply within a week.


How does the selection process work?

Taking place across 2 interviews, the introductory interview allows the candidate and ERNI to get to know one another. The second interview is primarily focused on the skills and work method of the candidate. Depending on the position, candidates typically have to solve and present typical project situations.


How would you describe the management style of this organisation?

Generally, ERNI favours decentralized and non-hierarchical management. However, you will notice that your superiors do focus on developing the skills set of their employees rather than managing individual tasks. What’s unique about ERNI is that we have established our own global leadership management system that details the standards managers must adhere to when developing their teams.


Will I be expected to resolve issues independently, or will there be opportunity to consult with others?

You will be empowered to act autonomously but are equipped with powerful resources to support your project mandates. To this end you can engage with internal service leaders, a large and growing wiki database of service patterns, as well as an active community of subject matter experts linked by ERNInet. These resources allow rapid collaboration between engineers to ensure projects deliver maximum added value to clients. Since teamwork is the foundation of successful innovation at ERNI, we want our employees to simultaneously leverage their strengths while developing their wider skills set. Thus depending on the origin of the issues, you may be also be guided by an internal mentor or approach the most relevant colleague or manager for help. Each mandate is given clear protocols regarding appropriate reporting, responsibility and authorization.

What does a typical project at ERNI look like?

This varies from short-term consulting mandates usually 4 to 8 weeks, up to complex development projects lasting up to 2 years. The types of projects and the employee’s participation in them, is greatly dependent on the targets and skills of the employees themselves. That said, longer projects are usually recommended for new employees so they can get to know ERNI and our processes.
